Former presidential aspirant and Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah is ramping up his campaigns ahead of the 2027 general election. Having publicly declared his intention to run for the presidency, Wajackoyah has already met with all the governors from the Mulembe nation and is now expanding his outreach to other regions.

On Tuesday, Wajackoyah visited the Amagoro ACK Diocese Church in Amagoro, Busia County, where he held a meeting with Bishop John Okude. Following the meeting, the Bishop hosted Wajackoyah for a luncheon.

Later, Wajackoyah met with a delegation of teachers from Kano in Kisumu County at Mundika, Busia County. During the meeting, he promised that if elected as President, he would work to improve their lives and the education standards in the country.

Wajackoyah has also indicated plans to meet with Kenyans from various sectors, including media owners and practitioners, to foster better understanding. “I am a friend of the media too, and I would like to engage them so that we can know each other well. I know some of them are poorly paid, and I would be happy if media owners and managers could intervene and ensure they are paid well,” said Wajackoyah.

He stated that he is the best candidate for the presidency in 2027, citing his deep understanding of the challenges facing many Kenyans and his extensive experience, which includes working as a junior police officer, living in exile, and later returning to serve the nation. Wajackoyah also emphasized his academic qualifications, describing himself as a well-educated, down-to-earth individual.

Additionally, Wajackoyah expressed his respect for Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s acceptance of his senior officials in the ODM party joining President William Ruto’s cabinet. He noted that these four officials, now serving as cabinet secretaries, are all Kenyans with the right to serve the nation. The four are Ali Hassan Joho, now the CS for Maritime Affairs; Wyckliffe Oparanya, now the CS for Cooperatives; John Mbandi, appointed as the CS for Finance; and Opiyo Wandayi, who was handed the Ministry of Energy.
