Undercover detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport have apprehended a drug trafficker attempting to pass as a regular passenger. Bioma Alice Gbassay from Sierra Leone was caught with 1,080 grams of cocaine. Upon her arrival in Kenya en route to Mumbai, she was escorted to the immigration offices where a thorough search of her body and luggage revealed narcotics hidden in her inner garments and two slabs of ‘Dove’ soap.
In another incident, law enforcement officers responded to a call from Promise Bus Services’ manager regarding a passenger’s suspicious behavior. Upon searching a parcel belonging to Emmanuel Erony, who was en route to Nairobi, officers discovered 19 large stones of cannabis sativa weighing 19,810 grams, worth an estimated Kshs 990,500.
Both suspects are being processed for arraignment.
