A businessman, Isoka Bethwel, has taken legal action against the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula, over an alleged unpaid debt of Ksh 298,100. The debt stems from the supply and training of two German Shepherd dogs, along with various dog care and training supplies.
According to court documents, Isoka claims that Wetangula contracted him to supply and train two male German Shepherd dogs. In addition to the dogs, Isoka provided two packs of dog food, four packs of Brave Active dog food, dog training sleeves, a dog leash, choke chains, dog grooming brushes, a dog nail cutter, five liters of dog shampoo, and five liters of kennel disinfectant, totaling Ksh 348,100.
The claimant states that after multiple follow-ups, Wetangula paid him Ksh 100,000 via cheque, leaving an outstanding balance of Ksh 248,100. Furthermore, Isoka was requested by Wetangula to train his staff in handling the newly supplied dogs for one month, an assignment he undertook for an additional Ksh 50,000.
However, when Isoka attempted to recover the remaining balance, he alleges that Wetangula rudely refused to pay. The businessman states in court papers that his efforts to seek legal redress have been unsuccessful, as Wetangula did not respond to the letter sent by his lawyer.
Isoka is now seeking legal intervention to recover the outstanding amount.
