Nairobi, September 2024 – A , charged with failing to settle a hotel bill amounting to Ksh 750,000 at Shayola Investment Hotel in Parklands, Nairobi. Petrus allegedly incurred the bill between December 2023 and 2024, staying for months without payment. Despite numerous promises to resolve the issue out of court, Petrus has yet to fulfill his commitment, leading to his arraignment.

The accused, alongside others not before the court, reportedly stayed at the hotel under the pretense of being long-term investors, ultimately accumulating the substantial debt. Petrus has denied the charges and is currently out on bond.

During the hearing, Senior Principal Magistrate Samson Temu encouraged the accused to negotiate with the hotel and settle the matter amicably before the next court session, scheduled for September 9. Petrus’ lawyer had previously indicated his client’s willingness to resolve the matter out of court, but no payment has been made to date.

The case continues to unfold, with both parties being urged to reach a resolution before the next hearing.
