Hassan Mohamed, the owner of Hasmo Agencies Limited, is currently embroiled in a heated dispute with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) over a prime piece of land located along Loita Street in Nairobi’s Central Business District. Mohamed claims that despite holding a valid court order, NSSF is attempting to forcibly evict him from the property, which he says he legally leased.

According to Mohamed, his company initially leased the land from NSSF for five years, from 2016 to 2020. Following the expiration of the initial lease, Mohamed secured a new lease in 2023 for an additional five years. Despite these arrangements, he alleges that NSSF deployed National Youth Service (NYS) personnel to take control of the land, leading to a tense standoff.

In response to NSSF’s actions, Mohamed reportedly hired his own group of youths to protect the property. The situation escalated until police officers from Central Police Station, led by Moses Shikuku, intervened. Shikuku ordered both the NYS personnel and Mohamed’s hired youths to vacate the premises to prevent further conflict. He advised Mohamed to seek further clarification on the matter from NSSF and the Nairobi Regional Police Command.
