“The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m.,” confirmed Juja Subcounty Police Commander Michael Mwaura.
Mwaura added that the late MCA’s body was taken to Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home near Kabati in Murang’a County, where it awaits a post-mortem and burial arrangements.
The wreckage of the vehicle has been towed to Juja Police Station, as investigations into the accident continue.
Members of the Kiambu County Assembly visited the mortuary to pay their respects after receiving the tragic news.
One MCA expressed shock at the loss of their colleague, noting that Kihara was a cooperative individual who was always willing to assist the public whenever needed.
