IPOA is once again calling upon anyone who witnessed the fatal shooting of Gen Z activist Rex Masai on 20th June 2024, to come forth and volunteer information to advance its investigations. The late Masai, a victim of what appeared to be deliberate and trigger-happy police shooting, was shot to his death along a Nairobi street as he joined fellow youngsters to protest against the rejected Finance Bill 2024. His death has been become that of a martyr who died for the noble cause of liberating Kenya from impunity, corruption and bad governance.
In a notice published online, UIPOA wrote: “IPOA appeals for witness accounts for anyone who may have witnessed the fatal shooting of Mr. Rex Masai on 20th June 2024, to volunteer information to advance its investigations. This information will help to not only bring closure to the family and friends but also c0ontribute to police accountability.
