UoN Staff Union SG Wekesa Criticizes the Ouster of VC Kiama

UoN Staff Union SG Maloba Wekesa has criticized the recent suspension of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama, questioning the motives behind the decision. Wekesa condemned the mobilization of students during recess and the deployment of police on campus. He also raised concerns over the controversial appointment of Brian Ouma as COO. This comes amid ongoing investigations into Prof. Kiama’s conduct and a disputed request for a second term.

Kenya Education Fund Opens Headquarters in Thika

The Kenya Education Fund (KEF) has inaugurated its new headquarters in Thika town, Kiambu County. KEF, a non-governmental organization that provides high school scholarships to financially challenged students, aims to enhance its support capacity with this expansion. Executive Director and co-founding partner Dominic Muasya highlighted KEF’s mission to offer educational opportunities to underprivileged youths. Since 2006, KEF has awarded over 4,000 scholarships and maintains a 98% transition rate from high school to university.
