By Collins Wanzallah, The Dispatch Digital

Just two days after a police officer was fatally stabbed in Embakasi, Nairobi, another tragic incident has occurred in Kisumu. Calvin Omondi, an officer from the General Service Unit (GSU), was stabbed to death in Manyatta estate, Kisumu County.

Omondi, who was on leave at the time, was an officer stationed at Turkwel in Turkana County. Details surrounding the incident are still emerging, but reports indicate that two suspects have been apprehended in connection with his death. Investigations are ongoing.

Efforts to reach Kisumu County Police Commander John Kizito for comment were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or text messages.

This incident follows the stabbing of an Administration Police officer attached to the National Police Service headquarters at Jogoo House. The officer was killed at a bar in Embakasi, Nairobi, during a Kalenjin night event on Saturday.
