Acting IG Gilbert Masengeli Appeals 6-Month Jail Sentence – Will He Walk Free?

Justice orders top cop to surrender or face arrest!

By THE DISPATCH DIGITAL REPORTER

Acting Inspector General Gilbert Masengeli has been slapped with a six-month prison sentence after being found in contempt of court – and now he’s begging for a last-minute reprieve!

Justice Lawrence Mugambi made the bombshell ruling, ordering Masengeli to surrender himself to the Commissioner General of Prisons. The judge warned, “If Masengeli fails to hand himself over, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior will be tasked with making sure he’s dragged off to serve his time.”

Masengeli is not taking this lying down, urgently appealing his conviction. He claims his no-show at crucial court hearings on September 5 and 9 was due to his involvement in top-secret security operations. The Acting IG argued that he was in the thick of things, dealing with militia attacks and other national threats that required his immediate attention. He insists these were critical missions he couldn’t afford to ignore, even for the courts!

His appeal paints a dramatic picture of the dilemma he faced: risk the nation’s safety or risk his freedom. Masengeli is asking the court to understand that his failure to show up wasn’t out of disrespect, but a necessary choice made in the line of duty to protect public safety and maintain national security.

The court is set to rule on Masengeli’s appeal soon, in what could become a landmark decision on the delicate balance between justice and national security. Will the law come down hard, or will Masengeli walk free? The nation waits with bated breath!
