But some say President needs to be in control of the meeting to ensure etiquette and order

Scores of Gen Z online were earlier today enraged by a suggestion that President William Ruto becomes the host of the proposed Space meeting between him and Gen z, at which he is expected tp take questions and respond to them in real time.
Expressing fears the space would be manipulated and outspoken Gen Z blocked from speaking, scores of youth suggested that Ruto, like all participants, should be hosted, to be muted and allowed to speak in accordance with ongoing practice.
An online personality called @JDugudichi said, “He should join one hosted by a Kenyan so that when he starts lying we can just easily remove him. He no longer calls the shots, we the people do.”
Another, Sholla Ard @sholard_mancity said, “Host ? (angry Emoji) No no no. Citizens should host the space . We don’t want to listen to someone pour more anger into Kenyans.”
Another, Kijiji Ya Hustler @Its_prootich said, “It’s us to host him not him to host us.”
But there were some who had no problem with the President hosting the discussion, like Wycliffe Wangwe Wekesa @TchaWicky_Tech, who said, “President Ruto hosting X space is not an issue. What’s crucial is that he prioritizes listening over speaking. Kenyans desire a president who listens and cares, rather than one who dictates.”
A poll conducted ponl9one showed that 57.2% of respondents did not want him to host while 42.8% had no problem with him hosting.
“For purposes of protocol, and since Ruto remains the Head of State,”said Mikaeri Mwarwa, a youthful tech enthusiast, “the Gen Z will have to step down from their position and have him host the discussion, both as an elder and President. There’s no way they can host their President and mute him as they wish. They have to listen just as they wish to be heard.”
There were also concerns that if not properly controlled, the Space X meeting could degenerate into a forum of unrestrained insults against the President and one way to control this was to have him ho,d the controls to mute anyone getting out of line.
