Kuria Arms Smugglers

Acting on intelligence, detectives from Kisii Central Police have arrested two individuals found in possession of a significant cache of explosive materials. Wilfred Chacha Mokami, aged 28, and Chabere Mwita Mahenda, aged 49, were intercepted on the Kisii-Oyugis road while travelling in a vehicle with registration number KDQ 445R and a trailer registered as ZH 4943.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of three cartons containing 459 pieces of water gel explosives (V6) and two detonating cords, concealed in plain sight. The suspects are currently being held at Mosocho Police Station as detectives intensify investigations. The explosives and vehicles have been retained as exhibits for further examination.
