Two women, Fihima Yusuf Abdillahi and Hibo Mohamood Abdulahi, appeared before a Kibera court, accused of assaulting a Norwegian-Somali national. The duo is charged with causing bodily harm to the complainant, Maria Abdisalam Ali, during an incident that occurred on 25th July at Lenox Apartments in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.
The case came up for hearing, but one of the accused, Rayan Abukar Ali, did not appear in court, claiming illness. Despite her absence, the case proceeded, and both Fihima and Hibo denied the charges against them. They have been released on bond.
During the hearing, Fihima Yusuf Abdillahi requested the court to allow her to change her plea. However, Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Samson Temu noted that it would be difficult to grant this request without the presence of the second accused. The magistrate directed that the case be mentioned again on 19th September for further directions.
