Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat continued his nationwide tour of police stations with an impromptu visit to Nakuru Central Police Station on Wednesday. During the visit, he held a meeting with police officers, led by regional police boss Jasper Ombati.

Senior officers accompanying Lagat stated that he received a firsthand account of the security situation in Nakuru County and assessed the welfare of the officers. His visits are part of a deliberate effort to understand the current working conditions and challenges faced by officers, and to gather feedback by engaging directly with them at their duty stations as well as with members of the public seeking police services.

Prior to this visit, Lagat had inspected Mwiki Police Station and the Force Central Stores in Industrial Area, Nairobi.

Addressing the officers at Nakuru Central Police Station, Lagat expressed his appreciation for their unwavering dedication to duty. He urged them to continue upholding integrity, responsibility, and accountability in their service to the public.

Lagat also toured various sections of the station, including the Report Office, the Child Protection and Gender Unit, and the cells. He took the opportunity to speak with individuals apprehended for various offenses during their afternoon meal.

The Deputy Inspector General was accompanied by Kenya Police Service Director of Logistics Peter Ndung’u, Director of Corporate Communication and National Police Service Spokesperson Dr. Resila Onyango, and Kenya Police Service Deputy Director of Operations Bernard Mbatha.
