KNCHR Publishes List of Gen Zs Killed by Police in Protests
The Kenya National Human Rights Commission, KNCHR, an non-profit NGO, has published a list of 60 names of people it says were killed by police during the gen Z protests that have slowed down. Most of the names appear to be of people from areas that voted for both Raila Odinga and William Ruto -in Nyanza, Mt. Kenya and Eastern region. There are also names of school boys who died during the protests – how the were caught up in the chaos has not been explained but one schoolboy died died at Isebania, an area in Kuria West, Migori County, that was generally not rocked by the protests.
The names included those who had died up to and including July 22nd, 2024.
