Ruto Orders Swift Probe into Mysterious Kware Murders

NAIROBI, July 13 – Kenyan President William Ruto on Saturday directed security agencies to expedite investigations into the mysterious killings in Nairobi after nine mutilated bodies were retrieved from a dumpsite in the Mukuru kwa Njenga slum. Speaking in Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Ruto assured citizens that those responsible for the killings would be held accountable and that no stone would be left unturned in the investigation.

The president highlighted that the retrieved bodies, mostly of women and girls, were discovered at the Kware dumpsite. He urged Kenyans to maintain peace and conduct their business lawfully. The bodies were wrapped in sacks and black polythene bags, tied with ropes, and showed signs of burns and decomposition.

This directive follows intense pressure on President Ruto to take action against security officers accused of abducting young Kenyans involved in anti-government and anti-tax hike demonstrations. The State-funded Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) reported that the bodies were found less than 100 meters from the Kware police station.
