Acting Inspector General of Police, Gilbert Masengeli, and Deputy Inspector General, Eliud Lagat, addressed the media today at Gigiri Police Station, following the disappearance of 13 suspects from police custody. Among the escaped individuals is Collins Jumaisi, a suspect in the high-profile Kware murder case. The incident has raised serious questions about security lapses within the force.

Speaking at the press briefing, Masengeli confirmed that eight police officers, including the local OCPD, have been interdicted in connection with the incident. “We are conducting a thorough investigation into how these suspects managed to escape and whether there was any inside collaboration,” said Masengeli.

The disappearance of the suspects has caused widespread concern, especially given the gravity of the charges against some of them. Collins Jumaisi’s involvement in the Kware murder has made his escape particularly alarming, and the public is demanding swift action.
